Malayalam
The degree course in Malayalam was started in 1995. A literary club is functioning under the auspices of the department, which provides a platform for the students to express their talents in culture and arts. The department has organized various seminars on folk dance, short story and poetry and also a symposium on short story and an exhibition on folklore. Communication Sanskrit course was conducted in association with 'Viswa Sanskrita Prathishtan'. The department brings out a penned magazine and periodic news bulletins every year. Kerala Piravi was celebrated with cultural programmes and quiz competitions.
